In Podcast Bangsamoro, Atty. Laisa Masuhud-Alamia joins MP Amir Mawallil to discuss women’s rights in the Bangsamoro region and lessons learned along the way as the region undergoes a political transition.

As a human rights lawyer, Atty. Alamia has been at the forefront of shaping the discourse surrounding Muslim women’s rights and welfare. She was the Program Manager of Nisa Ul-Haqq Fi Bangsamoro (Women for Justice in the Bangsamoro) and served as the first chairperson of the ARMM’s Regional Human Rights Commission. She is currently a member of the Women’s Islamic Initiative in Spirituality and Equality (WISE)’s Global Muslim Women’s Shura Council which uses Islamic principles in tackling society’s most pressing concerns, and issues informed and religiously-grounded opinions on matters that are of particular relevance to Muslim women.
