As different sectors in the Bangsamoro mobilize to build political parties for better representation in the regional government, the political landscape in the region shifts according to the needs of the people.

The Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG) is taking steps to deepen the discussion by holding a series of talks titled Usapang Eleksyon sa Bangsamoro, starting with a conversation on Mainstreaming Gender and Minorities in the Bangsamoro’s Political Party System via Zoom on March 18, Thursday, at 9:30 A.M.

In a discussion facilitated by IAG’s senior policy adviser, Fr. Eliseo “Jun” Mercado, Minority Floor Leader Atty. Laisa Masuhud Alamia will sit down with Mayor Ramon Piang of Upi, Maguindanao, Commissioner Nasserudin Dunding of Bangsamoro Youth Commission, and Policy Adviser Iain Gill of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy to talk about efforts to ensure sectoral representation in the Bangsamoro government, especially for women, indigenous peoples, and the youth.

The event will be streamed from the IAG Multiplatform Training Center in Cotabato City, and is organized in partnership with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and the UK Government.
