The COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in a global crisis that affects not only public health, but also the socio-economic aspect of our lives. The BARMM has not been spared from the effects of the global pandemic, and the ongoing political transition adds a different dimension to the Bangsamoro context.
In line with this, the United Nations Development Programme in the Philippines will launch a report that explores the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 in BARMM, synthesizing three researches it has commissioned to identify key recommendations in addressing the challenges faced by the region during the pandemic.
MP Atty.Laisa Masuhud Alamia is one of the panelists invited to share her insights on the UNDP report and provide her own observations on the effects of COVID-19 in the region. To join this discussion, watch out for the livestream of the event on the UNDP’s Facebook page on Monday, 19 April 2021, from 1:00 PM to 3:00PM.
