The three-year transition period for the Bangsamoro regional government will end in time for the first regular elections in BARMM in 2022 based on the Bangsamoro Organic Law, and bills pushing for an extension are now pending and being deliberated upon in the Congress. With this, there is a need to account for the changes implemented by the BARMM government and the challenges that await, and the importance of a multi-sectoral approach as the transition continues.

In an effort to deepen discussions surrounding the transition, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University will host a webinar entitled “Kamalayan: A Conversation On The BARMM Transition”, through the Social Development Office and Ateneo Center for Leadership and Governance, and in partnership with the Institute for Autonomy and Governance. It also hopes to encourage further dialogue and participation among the youth sector, the business sector, and the civil society organizations.

MP Atty.Laisa Masuhud Alamia will be at the webinar as a resource speaker to give updates on the BARMM government — its development, progress, and challenges during its first three years of transition. Join the webinar via zoom on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, from 8:00 AM to 11:30AM AM.
